How many years ahead of your grade level are you studying math?

BC calc freshman year. 4 grades ahead.

I was in accelerated, doing 9th in 8th grade, so I've always been just a year aheard.

Only two years, I'm sorry to say.

I also had block schedule and doubled up Geom and AlgII in freshman year :)

One... but my school's stupid. By the test I had to take, I could be three ahead, but they wouldn't let me because of scheduling... I'm content. I get enough "you are such a nerd why are you here you must be a freak" stares in Honors Geometry (I'm in 8th)-- I'm the only one in my school to skip ahead.

I'm not really sure... Took calc I and II last year as a junior. Taking multivariable, diff eq, linear algebra, and fourier analysis this year as a senior (college classes on quarter system).

i took:
7th- algebra I
8th- algebra II
and am in 9th: honors geometry
but the standard for where i live is
9th- alg I
10th- alg II
11th- geometry
12th- trig
so i guess im 2 grades ahead of everyone in math, but i have a horrible geo teacher now.
they switched 11th and 10th this year, so now im taking the same math as those only 1 grade ahead in math, but im thinking of skipping trig just to spite the administration for confusing us all.

I'm a senior. Last year I took Calculus II and Elementary Linear Algebra.

This year I'm taking Cal III and I will take Ordinary Differential Equations.

I'm only ahead 1 yr (alg 2 in 10th) which is the norm for honors students at my school. But in some cases i m ahead, b/c this senior i knew flunked geometry 2x and had to take it and Alg 2 in 12th grade in order to graduate.
Yeah....lots of ppl fail at my school.

I'm grade level. Pre-Calc in 12th.

alright, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter how many years you're ahead in math. It's only because some people get the opportunities to get ahead while others don't. I mean, some schools allow for geometry in middle school, my old middle school only had up to Algebra 1. Plus, y'all need to look at the grade and see how you've "mastered" that class. Come on y'all, I wouldn't say that you're that much ahead if you're making a high C or low B in a math class

i think 1 year..i took Algebra honors in 8th, geo honors in 9th, algebra 2 honors in 10th, and im going to take pre-cal honors this year and AP Calc BC next year.

zero years ahead. im right on track. i took pre-calc honors senior yr.

and im in college of engineering at UCSB.

2?

I took Alg 1 in 7th, that was the earliest they let anyone take it. And yeah, I took Geometry in 8th, alg 2 in 9th, precalc in 10th, calc ab in 11th,and now I'm doing BC in 12th

It's hard to gauge that at teh beginning of the year. My teacher gave us a test the other day that we ended up only having about 35 minutes to complete. Needless to say, I ran out of time, and my grade was a C. He counts tests as 80% of your grade (though you can retake, once you do corrections and such). So right now, based on just one test and a few homeworks, I have a high C in my math class. I got a 100 on my Calc AB final last year. And a 5 on the AP. I think I count as far ahead, even if I run out of time on a test.

2 years ahead. Sophomores are usually in Geometry, I'm in Pre-Calculus.

But that doesn't really say much about my mathematics ability. I'd bet a lot of people (at least, on CC) could have done Algebra 1 in like 5th or 6th grade, and gone on from there. But that usually never happens.

7th- algebra 1
8th- geometry
9th- algebra 2
10th- stats 1 and 2 (equivalent of ap stats and the next course in teh sequence at colleges)
11th- precalc and calc 1, 2, and 3 as college classes
12th- calc in hs as well as linear algebra and differential equations as college classes

2 years
I'm in senior level math, but I'm a sophmore

ugh i wish my school let us do Alg. 1 in 7th, that would have been so much better cause seventh grade math seemed like such a waste to me.

All math from about 2nd-7th grade seemed like a waste...My teachers had me sit in the back of the room and type up the class newsletters or other mindless tasks :( I wish I would have been able to "skip ahead" back then.
