When I was in 8th grade I took a high school Spanish class… then my sophomore year I decided to switch and take French instead… now I’m a junior planing to take French 2 online over the summer… I really want to get into NYU I’m hoping by the end of the year I’ll have a 3.7 weighted gpa and my desired ACT score. So my question is how many years of a foreign language does NYU require?
On their website they recommend 3 to 4 years, but I barely took 2 of Spanish (1 in 8th grade, 1 as a freshman), and I was accepted @ NYU in March. I think they like to see at least 3 years, but it really depends on the rest of your application–I had good essays and unique ECs as well as decent SAT scores and a 3.9 GPA so I think that’s what helped me get in
This can be found on the website or by googling the school’s common data set. It is always a good idea to do some basic/quick research before posting questions.
