How many years of spanish?

So right now I'm a junior and I don't know if I should continue taking Spanish senior year. After this year, I will have completed Spanish 4. I know a lot of colleges want 4 years of foreign language, does completing through spanish 4 count even though I only did three?

Also, the reason I don't want to take Spanish is because I really wanna take AP Euro, which I think I could get a lot out of. Plus, I don't see the point in continuing in spanish because 1. i'm not gonna major in it 2. not taking AP exam 3. i speak well enough to be understood (i think).

So basically, my question is whether colleges will require me to take Spanish 5, which would be my fourth year of spanish (i started in spanish 2 freshman year)

Anyone went through this before or any advice? XD

I stopped at Spanish 3 and got accepted to top UC schools. So Spanish 4 is already pretty good. Not sure any college require Spanish 5.

a2npersuas2n - it really depends on the colleges you are applying too. my D is in the exact same situation - started Spanish 2 in 9th grade. she asked several colleges and got a variety of answers. some said Spanish 2-4 in HS is enough, others wanted 4 years of HS spanish (spanish 1 in middle school doesn't count). so my advice is email the admissions office at a few schools you are thinking of applying to.
