How motorcycle friendly is Emory?

Kind of a random question but does anyone know how motorcycle friendly Emory is? If I get accepted I plan to bring my bike up freshman year because we can't have cars first year and I'm just curious how available parking is for these. I checked the website and it says that motorcyclists are required to park in motorcycle only spots so I'm wondering if anyone has a rough idea how many of those areas actually exist on campus.

My second question is how safe do you think the campus is for parking these. I'm just concerned someone might try to tip it even steal it. I'm not too worried about the safety on there after visiting the campus because it seemed pretty secure but it would be nice to have someone attest to this.

I know these aren't the typical kind of questions usually asked, but really any insight would be great,

Thanks!

Page four of this document http://transportation.emory.edu/docs/Rules&Regs.pdf</a> , put out by Parking Services, states that freshmen can’t bring a vehicle.

I was actually aware of their policy and my admissions counselor already cleared it up with me, but for closure (and whoever else might be interested) I went ahead and emailed the transportation department and they told me that the “vehicles” they don’t permit for freshman are strictly cars due to a lack of parking and in fact encourage people (freshman included) to bring motorcycles and scooters instead of their cars as a better option.

You “can” bring Motorcycles but honestly coming from a freshman there is no point. Everything is within a 3 min walk. I wake up and my farthest class is 10 min. I would take much longer on a motorcycle. Most people on want cars to go into ATL as a group, and that would be hard on a motorcycle. leave it at home, there is not point.
