Hello, with the exception of loans (which don’t do much for me) I have heard how schools almost everywhere do not give much aid to international students and somewhat expect them to pay full price. Is this true of UBC? Could I expect UBC to meet 90-100% of my financial need as an international student? Or is most aid reserved for Canadian students only?

You can apply for the ILOT scholarship (not this year though, the deadline already passed) which will cover 100% of your financial need but it’s extremely competitive. Other than that, there’s the President’s entrance scholarship which you are automatically considered for based on your admission average, I think it goes from $500-2000 but it’s a one-time thing. There’s also ISHA but unless you’re from a region where there’s war/intense poverty/some other disaster that doesn’t apply to you.

The you@UBC site is very helpful, there’s a section about international scholarships too.
