How much chemistry in physics?

I think physics would be pretty interesting, but I'm taking an intro to chemistry class right now and it's really not that exciting... at all. I get that it's just an intro class but I could really care less about oxidation and all that jazz.

I'm guessing you don't need much chemistry classes but I'm not so sure...

Not a lot. The Berkeley physics major does not even require any chemistry courses, although “Those who have not taken a substantial chemistry course in high school are urged to take a one-year sequence.”

[General Catalog - Physics](http://sis.berkeley.edu/catalog/gcc_view_req?p_dept_cd=PHYSICS)

D got credit for chemistry via AP Chem in h.s., and was relieved to not have to take any more chemistry classes in college. Although she did great in the class, she REALLY didn’t like it at all. Physics=lots of math, not much chemistry.

You need exceptional math skills and a lot of determination to do physics, but chemistry will not be stressed hardly at all.
