how much credit does your teacher deserve for your score??

Calc BC- 5 Grade: B. Amazing teacher...class average was around a B-, but everybody except for 3 people in all her classes combined (70 kids total) got 5's.
Physics B- 4 Grade: A. Amazing teacher, except we didn't go over everything on the exam as in depth as we could have.
English Lang- 3 Grade: B. Whatever. Good teacher, but I'm not an English person.
US History- 5 Grade: A. AMAZING US history teacher. Writes the rubrics for the essays that CB uses at the essay readings each year.

Music Theory- 4 Aural, 5 Nonaural, 5 Composite. Grade: A. Whatever. I liked the guy.
English Lit- 3 Grade: B. Whatever, ditto English Lang.
Stat- Unavailable Grade: A.
Biology- 5 Grade: A. I didn't pay attention in class because my teacher was a dimwit, but studied a lot on my own.
Psychology- 5 Grade: A. My favorite class last year.

Psychology: 3 - He and Psychology aren't a good match. Each day was spent either copying notes from the overhead or watching Discovering Psychology. I always bombed his tests, but he let us make them up by copying the correct answers. Basically, the class was too laid back. We never even took a practice AP exam.

Calculus AB: 5 - Crazy (awesome) teacher! A month before the AP exam, we had practice exams every week and practice MC/FRQs for homework every day. I've never had a teacher who cared so much about her students. No wonder she has a 95-100% pass rate! (: I almost got a C+ first semester, but she gave me a B-; I ended up get a B both semesters. But it's all good. If it weren't for her, I would have failed for sure. Math has always been my least favorite subject (630 on SAT II Math 2 eek).

US History: 4 - Pshh. I didn't learn anything in that class. I crammed using the cram packet a week before the exam. He bragged too much about how his pass rate (~30%) was better than the other teacher.

World History: 5 - Great teacher! We had an essay "study" session before every in-class essay. He gave really helpful advice. What I learned in his class really helped me with US History. We also got to watch some really interesting films. Loved that class!

Calculus AB: 5 20% - I don't believe my teacher deserves anything. She doesn't teach that well, really. Not to me, anyway (okay for others, I suppose?). She's cool though. I still don't think she helped much except by providing tests? <_<

Biology 5 40%: I loved this teacher. I knew the first half of biology so well because of her, yet at the same time, the second half was hell-on-earth for me because we rushed through it ridiculously as we ran out of time. Zero review.-o- compromises, i guess.

Environmental Science 5 25%: Okay? I guess. One FRQ he wrote for us actually came up on the AP. So that was cool. But I think my 6 hour cram did more? Dude didn't do much for me but give me tests. Really kind teacher though. Bit of review though, so that was a'ight. And he snuck us several practice AP's on his own time.

Euro : 4 10%- Teacher was so-so. Didn't help much. Tests were easy. Zero review for us.

Half A's Half A+'s for the entire year.

Let's see...

Bio - 5: A year ago, I would've said my teacher deserved a lot of the credit. Now, I realized that, well, he's been a bit neglectful. I had to teach myself on the concepts we haven't covered in class, such as the nervous system... And a lot of his "teaching" was kind of based on what I'd already read from the book. A lot of independent work here...

Calc AB - 5: On the other hand, this teacher really deserves a lot/all of the credit. She's been THAT helpful in making calculus, well, accessible!

Chem - 5: I did learn a lot from the book, but the teacher's lectures were still helpful, such as when we've learned about how to do equilibrium problems. Clarified what I've read from the book. She was also helpful in other preparatory aspects.

Comp Sci A - 5: Between the fact that our class (well, year) wasn't meant to be an AP class and that our entire class was split into, what, 4 or 5 groups... he did the best he could. Helped me in some aspects, such as if/else statements and looping, but I studied a lot, particularly in the weeks before the exam.

OMG I give my Physics B teacher like little to no credit aside from him assigning homework and letting us borrow PRs. Haha it's the hardest test my school has to offer and he doesn't even offer an incentive grade change even if we manage to pass the test(he had no students pass the year preceding mine) anyways I get a D 1st semester A 2nd semester in the class and pull off a 4 (I swear it must have been the only 4 he's ever gotten) and when I tell him my grade all he says is good job, your hard work payed off. If I worked so hard over the year, why can't you change my grade? :(

Bio - I think my teacher did a good job teaching us, since I got a 5, but Biology is my favorite subject, so that might not work. I do know that for some people, he helped them understand/like the subject a lot more, and consequently, they got higher scores. Others didn't do as well, but hey, a lot of people hate Biology.

Calculus BC - My teacher prepared us for a month straight, and the practice tests really helped me a lot. In the first test, I was in 3 range, and by the end of the month, I got a 5 on the practice test (and ended up getting one on the test). The class itself was a bit difficult though, and I wish she made doing homework worthwhile (in the grades).

Spanish Language - A lot of people who took the class felt that they did not learn much from the class. But I went from barely able to speak Spanish to pretty proficient, and I got a 5 on the exam.

Chemistry - out of all my teachers, he prepared us the least for the test, with 1 full practice test, and several FRQs only. But I do feel that we learned a lot in the class, which definitely helped on the test. This was the only AP test that I had a course in school that I got a 4 in.

Physics B - 5 - The teacher (he was a Navy reserve) and I took it in freshman year and he really disciplined us and totally reshaped my work ethic and stuff. Awesome teacher (he got deployed to Afghanistan...we wish he didn't have to leave)

Physics C - 5/5 - 800 - AWESOME teacher lol. Best, most inspiring, motivating teacher ever. Learned the class really well and he introduced me to all kinds of math competitions and taught me and motivated me and helped me get all the way to the US Physics Team semi-finals - I owe it all to him.

Calc AB - 5 - Self-studied, even though the supervisor and teachers said I wouldnt do well.

More to come...

ap cal bc- 5/5 - best cal teacher
ap physic c- double nickel on both, AMAZING physics teacher
ap chem-5 acadec coach....awesome
ap eng lang-4, haha....learned = nothing
apush= 5,haha...ok teacher, she sucked at giving grades, but thanks to acadec reading on the civil war....helped a ton

teachers at my school for APs are simply awesome. I would credit them with
80% of the reason a number of us end up with 5's including:

AP Physics C, Ap Calc BC, AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Stat,
AP Eng Lang, Ap Eng Litt, Ap USH, AP GOV, AP Langs (French/Spanish/Latin)

Euro - 4; 60%: he was a new teacher, and not a particularly good one at that, but I didn't study much et all, and went into the test practically winging it, so I guess some part of my grade was of his doing.

Chem - 4; 30%: He didn't lecture, and gave us labs, which we then did by ourselves, with little to no contribution from him, so the class was practically self-taught. Half the class got 2s or below.

Lang - 5; 65%: We wrote tons of essays, but never touched up on multiple choice. My writing definitely improved though

Bio - 5; 80%: We had to teach ourselves a fair portion of the material, but she taught us quite well anyway.

US - 5 90%: He lectured w/out remit; very boring class but he taught quite well (he was also one of the few w/ phDs at our school)

Calc AB - 5 70%; awesome teacher, but it was a once weekly, 1 semester, hourlong morning class, so actual in class time adds up to like5-6 hours.

Art Drawing - 3 30%: What else to expect from a class requiring inborn talent? She gave us suggestions occasionally, but 90% of the time we were left alone to draw.

AP Art History (4) - My teacher did little to prepare us for the FRQ parts and he didn't get a CollegeBoard practice test in time so my whole class kind of went in cold without getting a real feel for the actual test. I think most of us screwed up. I thought I actually did OK (enough to get a 5) but I guess I didn't. It was also his first year teaching APAH so he was kind of inexperienced. I know a 4 is good, but it was unexpected to me but he does take 60% of the credit because he taught us well, just not really on the right material haha

Well let's see...

AP World History (5): 90%. This teacher deserves mad props. He spent all year grilling us with hard MC tests and chapter packets. He didn't lecture much, but he put us into small discussion groups (which was absolutely a great idea). We didn't do any essays for a grade, although we wrote them and discussed them in class. He also came up with a exact formula for writing all the essays. After the AP test, almost everybody walked out of there saying that it was the easiest thing we did all year (lols).

AP English Lang. (5): 85%. I definitely didn't think I was going to get a 5. This teacher was really awesome, even though he had a completely unconventional teaching style. We spent most of the year focusing on learning about the different types of papers (i.e., narrative, argumentative, comparison/contrast, etc.). At first I was like "***? how is this going to help us on the AP exam?" But during the last month, he showed us how we incorporate all aspects of these papers into our AP essays. Awesome writing teacher, also a complete Renaissance Man. Speaks 6 diff. languages, teaches math at a community college, and also teaches the German classes at our school.

APUSH (5): 70%. Nice teacher, has a lot of knowledge about American history, but ehh...she had trouble controlling her classes. Distracted me from learning.

Ap Environmental Science- 2. Yeah, I was only expecting about a 3 on the exam. We never once did any of the math training required for the free-response. I mean, the class was so unorganized. We didn't even start class until twenty minutes into the period. Everyone I know that took the test from our class has received a two. The teacher was an awesome person, but that was about it. He never taught. It was our first time having the Environmental AP course on campus, so I hope he fixes all of the kinks and glitches.

English Language and Composition- 2. This one was a REAL let down. My teacher (who is quite inspiring) had alot of faith in me to do well on this test.) I had constantly gotten 7 and 8's on the practice essays throughout the year, and was expecting a 4 or 5 on the exam. I feel like I've really let him down.

Oh well, Env. Science is only one semester elective credit anyways. And I still have one more year to take the english over again. Our senior AP english teachers are intense and WILL drop you if they don't think that you'll pass the exam.

I can't wait. :D

AP World History-4- My teacher taught pretty well and it was a fun class. I certainly learned everything for the exam from him and did little outside stuff.

AP Chemistry-4-My teacher did a little prep for us. She taught us, but not very well. I had to study so much for this exam and did hours and hours of prep for like a month.

AP US History-5-My teacher deserves all the credit. He taught us sooo much. He just lectured day after day. It was kinda boring, but worth the 5. But I guess I deserve soe credit cuz I did work hard on it also.

AP Comp Sci-4-My teacher deserves some credit. He certainly taught us a lot.

Calculus AB-5- I think my teacher was absolutely amazing! She definately helped us all pass! We had like 6 weeks of review and constant prep for the AP exam after every section. I truly give my teacher all the credit.

Art History-4- I, surprisingly, give my teacher a lot of credit. Even though it was online, my teacher was extremely helpful and clarified everything perfectly. I was very happy and give credit to my teacher.

English Language-4- None whatsoever. He was my worst teacher this year. Shocked I got a 4.

U.S. government-3- Not at all. I think she taught us way better than what my score showed might recheck this. Very very shocked. Expected a 5

Statistics-3- Again, not at all. Bad teacher, but really prepared us. All year she graded every test like an AP exam. I feel as if I let her down considering I got a 5 on all 4 mocks. Definately getting this rechecked. If there's a change, I'll get my U.S. govt rechecked because I used the same pencil :).

US Government/Comparative Government - 5/5 - 100% Teacher deserves all credit, giving me a great learning/discussion environment and teaching all the material for both tests in a year.

Physics C: Mech/E&M - 5/5 - 50% I learned a lot in class, but I only really understood E&M on my own two weeks before the exam.

Calculus BC - 5 - 100% Great teacher, she really knows how to drill things in your head, there was not a question on the exam that I had trouble with.

Chemistry - 5 - 100% Great teacher also, never left anyone behind.

US Government- 5- The teacher was basically non-existent. We watched the Daily Show and then talked about pop culture for the whole class period. ughhh.

English Lit- 4- Amazing teacher, but I feel like I let her down because I had been getting 5s on all the practice tests. Also, one of the hardest teachers I have ever had, but yet the funniest.

Biology- 5- This class was so hard that it made the exam so incredibly easy. Best teacher I have ever had. 13/15 people in my class received 5s- that's how good of a teacher he is.

Chemistry- 4 - Young, inexperienced teacher. I basically had to teach myself, but she was always invested in her students' success.

Calculus- 5 - Amazing teacher. I actually like math now because of his class.

US History- 4 - Although I absolutely hate history, I must say my teacher was pretty phenomenal and made me look at history, not as a timeline, but as a chain of cause and effects

World History (4)- funny and nice teacher, but didn't teach a lot. read almost everything i learned.
US history (4)- very nice teacher who lectured a lot, but the lectures weren't really helpful.
Eng. Lang. (3)- did absolutely nothing the whole year.
Physics B (4)- i didn't pay attention in class the whole year. i don't really know how much my teacher taught.
Chemistry (5)- my teacher deserves all the credits.

Soph year:

Chemistry (5): Did an excellent job at prepping us for the AP. His tests were essentially mini AP tests, and he was able to grade some 40 people's tests overnight. I got a B+/A- in his class, not that great, but everyone except 2 people got a 5. The other 2 got 4s.

Comp Sci AB (5): For some, the class was a waste of time, but I had little programming experience, so I had a B/A- in the class. I give a lot of credit to my teacher since he was willing to stay afterschool to help me with labs that I didn't get. Probably my best teacher in High School.

Junior Year:

Biology (5): I will grudgingly give my teacher credit, but only because she made the class SO FRIGGING HARD. Seriously, people who got C+s in her class got 5s on the AP. She was also gave a B+ to our salutatorian who had straight As and A+s before. I guess she was the reason he was our salutatorian instead of valedictorian...I had a B-/B in the class btw.

Calculus AB (5): I don't really give my teacher that much credit because this class was so easy for me. I probably could've self studied. I slept in class and got an A each semester.

Senior Year:

Psychology (5): Our teacher was good, and she taught us well. I'll give her credit, even though senioritis took over in the second semester and I started bombing tests. I had an A-/B in the class.

Calculus BC (5): So our curriculum is different. Some students can take BC directly from precalc while others (like me) take AB first and then this thing called AP Calc C/Multivariate. It basically teaches the BC concepts that we didn't learn in AB in the first semester and then goes off to Multivariate concepts in the second one. We then review the BC concepts again and take the AP. My teacher was excellent, but I kind of didn't pay attention in class. I still got an A both semesters, but my teacher felt I should've gotten an A+. So I guess I'll give my teacher some credit although I probably would've been able to self study.

Physics C (4 on Mechanics and 5 on E/M): Oh boy, this was probably one of the most miserable classes I ever took. Seriously, the highest grade I got on a test was a B, and the rest ranged from D- to C+. My teacher had a great homework policy that kept me in the B range, and I got a B/B+ in the year. I probably wouldn'tve done so well on the APs if I hadn't studied my butt off a week before the tests, so I guess I'll give a little less credit to my teacher than I would for most of my other AP classes.

APUSH- 5, my teacher was amazing- she had review sessions every morning before school for two months before the exam where she would answer all our questions and systematically review all we had learned. She was also an AP reader last year, even though she read world history.

AP English Lang-5, we switched teachers halfway through the year and neither of them prepared us for the exam, but that wasn't really their fault. I got a 5 because I read an unholy amount and am a decent writer anyways.

AP Latin- my teacher was AWESOME, we did so many practice tests, we could call her at 10:00 at night, and she brought pumpkin bread in for us all the time, which I think improved our concentration immensely. I luv her.

ughhh, AP Bio- I got a 5 by an act of god. The only reason our teacher was able to teach the class was because the school had signed her on again before they got the AP results in from last year, they're firing her after this year. 75% of last year's class failed, the ones who passed got 3's. She told us that she was teaching us everything we needed to know but I found out a month before the exam that she hadn't covered half of it. My twin and I did a run on Amazon for study things and taught ourselves the class in a month. I drew little cartoons in Dutch about my lack of coffee on 2 of the FRQ sections and resigned myself to a 3.
