As the title says...English, specifically - at least right now.
Basically, I could go to a UC and graduate with money in the bank. I could go to Brandeis and graduate with $30,000-40,000+ in debt.

Any advice?

Maybe you should major in finance.

Remember, the debt has to be paid back. Maybe you could ask some English teachers you know and ask them what they think.

useful. The shock estimate is $60,000.

ANY debt is too much for humanities unless you're going into law, I'm dead serious.

You're lucky in the sense that you have a UC campus as an inexpensive option.

At the undergraduate level, the difference between, say, Berkeley and Brandeis is minor at best. Berkeley may even be better.

But, if you like Brandeis, know that while $40,000 is still a lot, if you're prudent (really prudent), you can manage to pay it off in decent time.
