I really want to study economics in college, but I'm taking AP Macro this year and only received a B first quarter.

Generally all my other grades are in the A range, except for AP US and AP Euro.
Would this be reason for colleges to not take my applicaton seriously?

Schools I'm considering: Wash. U in St. Louis; BC; colleges in that range

As long as your other coursework was strong, you should be fine. UGs know you’re likely to change major multiple times anyway before graduating, so why bother checking your prior success in a subject area against proposed major? (There are exceptions of course, for example, by-admission-only programs like schools of music usually will audition students and only accept those they really think they could train effectively.)
