How much do "schoolwide awards" count?

Every month, we have a student of the month assembly. The school gives out these "department awards" in every department. So far, in my high school career (I'm a junior) I've recieved 3 - One for social studies, one for speech/drama, and one for music. I feel flattered, and I am happy when I recieve them because I feel like I'm doing well in those departments. But how much do these actually matter in terms of college applications? Not at all? Or somewhat?

At my school we have awards like that handed out at the end of each semester. I'm not sure exactly how meaningful they are (it depends a lot on the caliber of high school), but I say: list them if there's space on the application.

I kinda don't think they're very important--that is, if you're applying to a college where many applicants boast national and international-level awards. They do show the college that your achievement is extraordinary for your high school, though.

I didn't list them. Except for homecoming princess :D
