<p>HOLY CRAP! It was 2.79 a few hours ago, and when I came back home, it was 2.63 (a 16 cent drop in 3 hours... amazing).</p>

<p>Well, gas jumped about 40 cents in three weeks here. Even in the cheapest areas it's still 3.31 at least, and in the my school town probably about 3.50. There's only one gas station there and not much else.</p>
<p>I pay 1.86 for regular.</p>

<p>Ridiculous... Americans still have the cheapest gas as compared to anywhere else in the world because the government subsidises it so heavily.. If you think you pay a lot for gas because the price has doubled, dont worry - the rest of the world always paid that price, and then some more..</p>
<p>Enjoy the cheap gas.. And invest in oil company stocks.. The price isnt going to stop rising anytime soon..</p>

<p>As to the comment regarding Americans having the cheapest gas, that is untrue. Try going to Venezuela, and pay less than $1 a gallon. Sigh...but then again, I remember living in NC in the mid 90s and paying 99c/gallon...</p>
<p>Cheapest gas for countries who have to import it.. Im not denying that middle eastern countries, venezuela (major oil producer), etc have cheap gas - because they are the ones who have the deposits and pump it out...</p>
<p>Of the countries that need to import gas (pretty much the majority of the world), the US has the cheapest gas because the government subsidizes it so heavily.. </p>
<p>Just a general comment because ive never heard people talk about gas prices so much anywhere else... Americans talk about it so much because the prices have almost doubled recently, but when you compare yourselves to the rest of the world, youll still have it good.. Dont complain</p>
