How much does first gen college matter at Berkeley ??

Depends on your major and other things like EC’s, essays, etc. Application review is more holistic than, say, UCLA, so those other things carry more weight than they would otherwise. You will know one way or the other today.

I agree with @Undercrackers, as an international student, first generation is too common and wont set you apart.

Make sure you can afford Berkeley. No financial aid for non-residents.
