How much does Harvard know about individual areas, schools, summer programs, local awards, etc?

I am asking because the summer school that I scheduled to take classes with unsuspectingly has a "everybody gets an A" Spanish 3 class. It is also a hefty ~$700 per course, even though I got in based on a scholarship. Will Harvard see this and look down upon it? Can I do anything to get out of this sticky situation (eg. take Spanish 4 at CC to prove my ability)?

sinbad--I think you need to relax. Deep breath.

Depends on where you go to school. The adcom and several of the admission staff knew my counselor personally-but then again, my school sends many, many kids to Harvard each year. How many students per year apply to/matriculate at Harvard from your school?

We send maybe around 10 kids a year to ivies out of ~350. It's actually a very competitive public school ranked #2 in California.

Well, now that you've told them, how can they not know? ;)

what do you mean audiophile?

sinbad - im quite sure that you posted before that you were accepted to HYPS and that you were choosing among them. Why are you talking about this now??

maybe he doesn't always tell the truth on these forums? he seems to only be a junior/rising senior judging by his past posts.
