how much does it matter?

Hey guys, I'll be applying to USC for fall 2009 as a junior. As of right now i'm a molecular biology major with a chem minor. my EC's in my opinion are through the roof. (2 internships with doctors, 1500 hours of volunteer work, sports, 2 jobs with managerial positions, etc)

However my GPA right now is a 3.5, which I could most likely bring up to a 3.6-3.7 if I got all A's (which is hard considering the workload i'm taking right now.. :( )

How much do you think USC will weigh my GPA in? I mean is a 3.5 GPA something they look at and just scoff you off? :(

does anybody have some advice? suggestions? ideas? :)

all would be greatly appreciated

Your ECs should give you some nice leverage in the admissions. I think you'll be fine with a 3.5, but you should definitely aim for the 3.6~3.7 range.

What school are you at now?

i'm at Montclair State University, in NJ

apparently we're #2 biggest college in NJ so thats a sigh of relief lol

I think you have a good shot. It's very difficult to tell with transfer admissions, but I'd say you're competitive. Now just nail the essay and get good recs.

:) you guys sure know how to make me feel better
