Few Questions about transferring to USC as a Sophmore

Hi guys, just got a few questions. I read that if you have 30 units completed then your high school gpa will not matter much. I did absolutely crap in high school, so probabaly a gpa of <2.0, So if high school gpa shows up im screwed. Anyways I'm about to finish my first semester of community College. I plan on transferring in as a Bio Major or, Health and Disease Prevention Major FOR premed.

Fall Semester

Spanish 1--5 units--A
Microeconomics--3 units- A/B (donno what I'll get)
Medevil Art--3 Units-- A
Organismal Biology--4Units--A (I'm also rank #1 in my class, and am gonna get an awesome letter of rec)
Intro to Pol. Sci---3 units--A

total Units= 18 GPA= 4.0 OR 3.8333

I'm also planning on taking Winter classes, However, the deadline for admission is due Feb 2nd, and my Winter sessions ends FEB 4th.

Winter

Eng Pre-Req--3 Units-- (easy A)

Anthropology--3 Units-- (Easy A)

6 Units-- 4.0

During Spring I plan on taking my USC english and Math requirements+ Sciences for PRE-MED. I plan on taking 18-21 units and holding a 4.0

So once again my question is, by the time I apply, I will only have 18 units actually completed. However, by Spring I'll have 40++. If there interested in me will they request spring/winter transcripts, or will they see my high school gpa and automatically reject me.

OH yeah I also am Secretary for “Hands on Earth club”. I figured it looked good for a bio major =]

Yes, they will request your spring grades around April and you must turn them in by June 30. After that they will evaluate your application and if you have more than 30 units completed they will not look at your high school record at all. You’ll hear back mid-July.

It’s a long process, but you won’t be alone! Join us in the Official USC Thread :).

Thank you! =)
