I got a 99 on my October SSAT (99 Math, 98 Verbal, 94 Reading). Is this a big plus on my application?

Thanks! :)

To tell the truth, I don’t think ssat plays a huge role in admission to boarding schools unless you are way below or above the schools average

Okay, thanks for informing me!

To be honest no one really knows what goes on inside the room where they decide who gets in and who doesn’t . But from what I can tell a 99 SSAT will be a little plus, but at the most elite schools it is not very rare, and the SSATs are one of the least important parts of your application. It in no way will guarantee admission to any school but shows you that you are on the right track looking at the most competitive schools. Congrats on you fantastic score and good luck with the application process.

Of course it does. If you are at the mean for the school, bravo! If you are 3-5 points above the mean, it indicates you can intellectually do the work. If you are 5 points below the mean, there may be concern with you enjoying the intellectual aspect. You are well above the mean for any school, so for you any question about keeping up academically is put to rest.

There are other facets to your application that are just as important; but you have certainly answered the mail on that one facet.

Is “ability to handle the academics” 10% of the decision, or 25%? Who knows. What you do know is that you have 100% of that particular category. And that puts you in a much better position than most.

Thank you @bschoolsearcher and @ItsJustSchool!! :)
