How much does the ACT science matter?

*Please excuse the typo in the topic, I feel like smacking myself. I'd like to know how much the ACT science section MATTERS. Thank you.

Ok, so I want to be an engineer (which is the only reason I am at all concerned about this), so I figure that schools will look for aptitude in math and science. Well, I took the ACT, and did very well, except on the science portion. I got a 31 on science, which isn't really THAT bad, but considering that my other grades are all 36s (which makes a 35 composite, which I was ecstatic about), I'm worried that it will like like I am weak in science. Will this hurt me? To put it into further perspective, I have all A's in science classes at school.

The science portion has nothing to do with how well you will do in science in college. I'm applying to UGA and GT and they only look at the math and english sections of the act.

Nah, I wouldn't worry about it at all. The ACT science has less to do with how apt you are in science and more to do with how much data you can read and interpret in a ridiculously short amount of time.

The science does not gauge how well you will do in college science courses. The science ACT section should be changed to "how well I can read a graph" section. You will do just fine in college science with good work ethic. Good luck.
