I've kept around a 4.0 GPA throughout my entire 3 years in high school. However recently, due to the sheer volume of college work and sub-par teachers/rigorous AP courses, my grades have been slipping towards the B+ range. My only concern is the Mid-Year report that is coming soon. I don't want it to seem as if I stopped trying during my senior year or something. How does MIT use the Mid-year report in decisions? I'm applying RD btw.

I’m pretty sure that MIT uses your senior year grades like it uses all your other grades. The only difference is that your senior year grades are more current than your other grades, and thus probably a bit more important. MIT will of course consider the difficulty of your courseload when looking at your grades. A B+ is awfully close to an A-, and your college courses probably have a lot of the grade packed into the last few weeks. Do your best.
