How much does your school weight?

For an AP class, IB, Honors, etc...?

I ask because my school adds .1 onto a GPA for each AP class, I was just wondering if this was the same for everyone else…

My school adds 1 for AP and .5 for honors.

One is quite a lot? Like if you had a 3 and took an AP class you would have a 4?

probably a lot, it’s made out of concrete and brick which are both pretty heavy

Jarsilver, I believe you have confused the verb with the noun.

oh I see.

well it doesn’t weight at all. in fact it is very impatient. yesterday it couldn’t even weight to start 5 minutes later so that I could get to first period.

.17 We have very few weighted classes.

we use 100.0 scale

1.08 for honors
1.12 for AP

haha our school super-weights.

0.2 for honors/ap classes if you get all A’s, some weird averaging method if you get B’s.
So basically if you get all A’s with 7 AP classes you get a 5.4 !

Hahaha, oh homonyms.

My school doesn’t weight grades.

I’m ROFL at jarsilver.

My school weights +0.5 for honors and +1.0 for AP

@bamboozle
How does +0.2 give you a 5.4 with straight A’s that would give you a 4.2.

I thought that my school graded heavily but their are kids on cc with GPA’s in excess of 6.0.

That sucks if your school doesn’t weight though because that means that 2 kids could have the same GPA where one works a lot in honors and AP classes and the other sleeps in low level classes.

EDIT:
@Bamboozle

I just got your weighting system its +0.2 per AP class.
At my school its not per class, so for example you get an A in an AP class and an A in an honors class you would get a 5.0 and a 4.5 and your GPA would average to a 4.75.

6 for honors/ap, 5 for regular

+.33 for AP of Accelerated classes, but you can never get more then a 4 for any class.

That’s weird phoenix there must be a lot of 4.0 GPA’s at your school.

It doesn’t matter; colleges recalculate your GPA according to their own methods.

A in regular = 4 points, A in honors/AP = 5 points.

My school adds .2 for every weighted (AP and honors) course.

My school is: +1 for AP, +.5 for Honors, +0 for Regular, -.5 for “Basic”
Although, all D’s earn 1 point for GPA and all F’s earn 0 points.
