How Much Financial Aid is Awarded?

I'd like to get an idea of how much financial aid UC transfer students receive. UCs charge about $10,000 for tuition ("fees") and another $10,000 or so for room and board. How much of that will be covered by non-loan financial aid?

My family makes about $65,000 (a single-parent household), and by the time I start at the UC, I'll have a sibling at community college. How much aid did people in similar situations receive?

My guess is around $27k per year, with 0-10k being loans.

29k per year

about 19k in grants and scholarships, so they expect me to take out about 10k in loans, but me and my parents can pay most of it off where we’ll just have to take out about 4k in loans

…but i don’t know about next year. although next year i’m going to be living back at home so i’ll be saving about 10k.

$27k? $29k? What’s the extra money for… Books, materials, and the like?

Yes, money is for tuition, books and supplies, and rent.

housing is about 10-14k if you’re living on campus
