Well a few days ago i recieved an award letter from a college that accepted me. When i completed my financial aid, i was pretty sure i'd get a grant, considering how much income my family gets a year. I've always had an aversion to the thought of student loans; having that burden on your back when you could just work hard to get scholarships. Anyways, on the letter it says i've gotten a total of $17,000+ in grants/loans. I'll be honest, this DID kinda cheer me up considering how apathetic i've been lately with applying for scholarships and actually doing my school work. I already know i'm going to decline the loans, and my plan is to basically enter every scholarship contest i can. Still, i wonder how everyone else has done with this. How much have you guys gotten in grants and scholarships so far? Will you accept your loans?

Everyone takes loans here, and I don’t see any reason why not to. You only have to pay them bck when you’re earning enough (my mum still hasn’t paid hers) and it makes more sense to put off the cost of education, which will get you a better job, until you;re in that better job.
But if you can get enough in scholarships, that makes life easier :)
