i'm still so confused. what if we don't want to pay by e-bill? because it also said that you could pay by check and not use the e-bill. and are we going to get a paper copy of our bill?

This should be helpful in figuring out whether or not your financial aid is reflected in your statement: http://registrar.berkeley.edu/Registration/feesched.html

E-Bill can be used to just look at your bill too. I assume instructions will be forthcoming about how to pay with a check, although I dont see the advantage in that. With Ebill money is taken directly out of your checking account, so its essentially the same thing. And I havent heard anything about getting a paper bill, but maybe we will.

sorry but i'm still really confused.

so should i just pay the amount that it says as my minimum due in the quick statement on bear facts?

and what does the account balance mean?

It seems like you need to call the financial aid or billing services office. None of us are experts.

Financial Aid: (510) 642-6442
Open M-F, 9-11:30 and 1-3:30... expect to wait.

Billing and Payment Services: (510) 642-3190
Hours are not listed on the website.

You might also check out the Billing and Payment Services Website: http://billingservices.vcbf.berkeley.edu/ They have a FAQ section I think.

I think I'm just going to pay the amount in the quick statement because I still have zero in the cars account.

mine still shows $0 under quick statement

nvrmind its because im a spring admit

The e-bill statement will give the same amount as the quick statement.
It seems that if you want the deferred payment plan you HAVE to use e-check. Does anyone know otherwise?
So if you aren't paying by e-check you have to pay the minimum amount due in the quick statement.
and the statement comes on the 6th i think.

I already have an amount in my quick statement.

A grant I received paid for everything but $546.95 of this semester's registration fees. When I look under my "quick statement" I see that it says my minumum payment due now is: $2027.00". Could this be my first housing payment, and the remaining $546.95 that I will owe on the 15th?

I also have no idea when my loan will be placed in my CARS account, since I did the entrance counseling and completed the MPN. Gosh, this is the most confusing process that ever graced my life with it's presence. Hope everyone is getting it better than I am.

<3,

Izzie Bear

This is for me living off campus so no housing fee and I have scholarships and grants covering most of my costs with a small loan in case I need the money for now.

Also I had the $100 SIR fee deferred.

wow, bearfacts just updated for me, I finally have an e-bill that doesn't say $0

did any of you waive your health insurance (SHIP) and were still charged $461 on your CARS? i was :(

i was charged for SHIP too. is it because our waiver hasn't been approved yet?

they said that it might not be adjusted until the September cars...

ok I thought I was SO on top of this... and now Im just confused again. My E-Bill finally showed up and all 10 months of housing are on it. Of course, the due dates are monthly, but someone in financial aid told me that if you have huge amounts of loans in your CARS account they will use them to pay off your housing before they give you a refund. I assumed she meant first semester housing, since you only get half of your loans at a time, but now Im nervous since all my housing showed up. I NEED that refund in order to live. This is not good.

Oh and my PLUS loan is completely not on there at all. Fun. And they charged me for the insurance I waived (but I was kinda expecting that).

Oh Berkeley, why do you do this to me

That's the same situation with me easymack63. I NEED the refund amount to pay for stuff like, oh, I don't know, BOOKS!?! My accepted loans are intended to cover personal expenses, but by the time I get my refund, gah. Anyhoo, I saw this coming so I'm just borrowing money from my sister. =)

TTG

in the same boat as TTG and easymack...plus two of my $1000 scholarships have not shown up on BearFacts. I've already e-mailed FinAid (they got back to me in about 2 hours, which was rather nice), but they said there was nothing for me to do. Refunds from my loans would be nice...

Anyone know when the refunds are disbursed to EFT?

i have no idea how to sign on e-bills. every time i try, it says im not authorized.

i do not know when my student loan will get in my cars. berkeley hasn't sent my parents the paperwork to fill out for the PLUS even though we accepted, and completed the MPN. I have 2,027 in my quick statement, which is my first payment of housing, and the rest of the registration fee my grant didnt cover. i have no idea what's going on.
