*$5151 Cal Grant A is missing??????

There's nothing in my Award Summary or Payment Summary. So my question is that what am I supposed to pay by tomorrow? Since the award payment showed it has paid $6296 for my fall term, does it mean I don't have to pay anything because it has already covered the minimum fee that is due by tomorrow?

You need to pay the $1,362.75 shown as the minimum due on the CARS quick statement. The quick statement is the most accurate and up to date information regarding the balance on your account. Is financial aid covering the entire cost of attendance? If so, don’t pay anything on call on Monday to find out when the rest will be paying out. There is some wiggle room in the due date so don’t panic. Calling on Monday to get clarification will be fine.

The amount due on Aug 15th is a mix of both tuition and a month of housing if you are residing in the dorms. The registration fee summary is addressing only the tuition part of your account. The amount does look like the charge for a month of housing (1/10th of the annual cost they list for housing)

your registration (tuition) costs are paid in full, which is why there is no difference between the Minimum Due and the Min Due + Full Registration on your Quick Statement. The Account Balance part of the Quick Statement includes charges that are not due until later months (usually housing payments).

For example, if you were in a double in the units at 13,900, that would make the monthly charge $1,390 and the five month (one semester) account balance $6,950. Not too far from the actual numbers showing.

The real issue is the Cal Grant - if you believe you will get that but it has not yet been awarded or paid, that would cover more than the minimum due. If it is just going to take a few more days, you would delay making any payment until this is resolved. I hate to say that you should speak with finaid - they appear to be so swamped that they are almost unreachable right now - but that is the way to figure out if you will get the Cal Grant.

You have more time, the deadline is not a hard cutoff on the 15th, so give it a few more days before you consider paying the minimum due $1,361.75

Sorry about hijacking your thread but you mentioned the UG scholarship…

Is the Berkeley Undergraduate Scholarship suppose to show up on your “Award Payment Status”? It shows up on my “Award Details” but does not appear in my “Award Payment Status” section.

It will eventually. My son has the same problem. I’ve been checking every day to see if it appears on his Award Payment Status but I am still waiting. Frustrating, isn’t it??
