my e-bill and cars quickstatement say different amount. e-bill says about 5,000 and quickstatement says 0. does that mean i need to pay the 5,000 today? i’m really confused

please read other threads on this - it’s been said over and over again. quickstatement reflects what is due after fin aid has been added to it after the ebill came out. this is updated everyday if there are changes made to it. ebill reflects your balance once a month

quietpop - you only need to pay the quickstatement amount due - i.e. pay nothing this month.

Minimum Amount Due Now: $0.00
Minimum Due + Full Reg Fee: $0.00
Account Balance: $2,024.25

This means I owe nothing right now, correct?
What is the account balance? Is it the amount of fin. aid money I have left?

this is probably a little late. but yes you pay nothing. my quickstatement said the exact same thing :)

lesson of story: check your quick statement for the most up to date information on financial aid status.

So we paid my registration fee last Friday (overpaid, in fact… I just hope we don’t get screwed over here…). I’m aware that E-Bill seems to update monthly, but how can you tell that you have paid for sure? Looking at my Quick Statement, it’s almost as if I did not pay anything. And looking at BearFacts, I’m currently “NOT REGISTERED” (then again, I don’t expect much from BearFacts in terms of speed).

quickstatement does take a little bit of time to update - wait a day or two and check again. If you paid with e-bill, then your payment history shoudl also update. If paid by finaid, it wont be in payment history.

I paid off my entire CARS bill. Is that bad?

The instructions in my opinion are too vague and difficult to find. We shouldn’t have to ask on a public forum for this stuff right?

There are some instructions and videos about all this on the Billing and Payment services web site that are fairly decent. [Billing and Payment Services for Students](http://billing.berkeley.edu/StudentServices/StudentServicesIndex.htm)

The challenge is in finding information like this among the huge amount that Cal makes available on a myriad of sites.

Thank you for the info!
