<p>Less than most people think it is. At some schools, race or ethnicity is not considered (see the common data set or the entry at collegedata.com). At other schools, it is considered, but the consideration is hidden in an opaque holistic admissions process, often at highly selective schools that are reach for everyone.</p>
<p>Make your reach/match/safety assessments without assuming any boost for race or ethnicity.</p>
