<p>WOW. so now i finally know where the 'asians are smart' stereotype came from. </p>

<p>anyway, like i said, that is simply a stereotype. they might be simply more hardworking because of their parents' influence or, no offence, have a more mature mindset, or are 'nerdier' and prefer to stay home and study.</p>

<p>My mom just expects the best from us. We're just self-motivated, and when we need that push she's right there. It's most likely just a cultural thing.</p>

<p>I don't think we have any more asians in the top ten percent even, but then again, we only have a few at my school. Not alot of girls in the top ten percent either...(I think I'm one of seven?)</p>

<p>None. I'm ranked 4th out of just less than 60 people (private school). Two koreans in my calculus class and neither are doing particularly well</p>

<p>my school is about 20%-25% asian, it's public, and we do have non-asians that are smart but... not on that level.</p>

<p>Our val is hispanic. Out salutorian is black. Our school doesn't have a lot of Asians but 2 are in the top 10. Probably 8 and 9</p>
