How much priority does CSUF admissions hold to local students?

I know about the California State schools’ impaction policy giving first priority to local students, but does anybody know how hard it is for other students to get in? I am from Michigan so I imagine it would be harder for me, but how much harder? I have a 3.54 UW GPA and a 3.6 weighted. I do not have ACT scores back but I am planning to retake it until I break 30. These credentials would most likely meet the criteria for local students, but would it be good enough for an out of state student to be accepted?

Since you are OOS, you will be paying more to attend CSUF which makes you an attractive applicant. Your GPA looks on target and if you do get an ACT of 30, you should have no problem getting in next fall. Good Luck.

Normally that’s how it works, but I was pretty sure all the Cal State schools try to keep most of their students California residents through their impaction policy. I could be wrong though! Thank you!
