Non-local resident

How hard is it for a non-local resident in California to get into a CSU that prioritizes local students? (like CSUSM, CSULA etc)

that answer varies quite a bit by campus. what are your stats, what do you want to study and which campuses are you most interested in?

For the CSU’s, local applicants get priority but that is usually only for non-impacted majors. Some campuses such as SDSU and SLO no longer give local applicants priority since all majors are impacted. As stated in the above post, much will depend upon your intended major, CSU GPA and test scores.

I am an out of state student who got into CSUSM this cycle! It is possible!
