Okay so my second semester social life isn't that much better than my first. Yes I have people to eat with and work out with, and people who I talk to in class. But I feel like I am spending far too much time holed up in my room alone. I am planning on joining more clubs, but my school's club fair isn't for another two weeks. How can I deal with these next couple of very anti-social weeks?

I’m in my room or out by myself (studying and so on) about 60% of the time; then 35% of the time I’m in class and maybe the other 5% I’m actually doing something that involves interacting with people. Maybe I’m atypical but I feel like most college students spend most of their time doing things alone because they’re very busy, their friends all have different schedules and live all over the place, etc.

Edit: Scratch that, of COURSE I’m atypical. But still, I think most people are alone more often than you’d think.

If I am not outside in class, eating lunch/dinner, buying some foods and drinks for our room’s fridge, or hanging out with my fraternity brothers…then I’m in my room. I would say if I’m not doing any of the above things, I prefers to be in my room studying or gaming on my PC.

I don’t mind spending a Friday or Saturday night alone in my room. I’m around people so much (I often am in class from 9-7, sometimes 9-10) that I don’t want to be around people and have to interact and think. I believe this is perfectly normal.

I’ve actually been spending more time alone than I did last semester by choice. When I was in high school, I lived with my family of course, so I always wanted to see my friends and go hang out. However, in college, I can interact with my friends whenever I want (and often when I don’t want to!) so I’ve come to appreciate having some time to myself. If you don’t like being alone as much as you are, then you’re going to have to get out there and meet people. But if it’s on your terms, I’d call that perfectly normal.

5 hours of class and other eating time, work and walking around.
and i spend the rest of the day playing fifa 13 or mw3 listening to music. as i am i doing right now.
