DS is in the process of submitting apps for straight acting BAs and BFAs. He has 12 on his list. How much time should he block out for each school’s audition? If he passes DePaul and Julliard prescreens, I understand those auditions can last 1/2 of a day. Can anyone attest to that from last year? I seem to remember reading that on a thread a while back and they are not held at Palmer House, correct? So of the other 10 on his list, how much time in between his scheduled audition time should he leave open? He scheduled Fordham which were in 5 minute increments. After scheduling it he received an email saying to arrive at least 30 min prior to the scheduled time to fill out interview paperwork. Is this common? Advice much needed from the wise ones who have gone before.
@collegeadmiss Yes, Julliard is a 1/2 day. Group warm up, audition, call back list. You must wait until everyone in your group has auditioned. Last year DS was #1 audition slot and had to wait 2 plus hours until all had gone. Note: out of 30 auditioners, only 6 were high school age with people into their early 40’s auditioning. It was really different. Only 3 guys in their 30’s were called back in our session. As for Unifieds, it is pretty hectic with back to back auditions, however, we got them all in and it was really a remarkable experience. Just make sure of the locations and allow for the travel time. Some schools are very easy to change times slots and others not so much. Also, Pace is a long audition process and can be around 3 hours if your S makes the call back list.
