How much will a bad SAT II score hurt me?

Hello, I am a Junior in High School and recently I received my SAT US History Score, a disappointing 660.
This came as bit of a shock to me as I considered myself relatively proficient in history, have an A in APUSH and am expecting a 5 in the APUSH exam.
I am a 4.0 student, 1% of the class, fantastic ECs and awards. I am taking the SATs in June and from the numerous practice exams I have taken, I am expecting at least a 2250.
I also have an 800 in Math II, but this isn’t quite as impressive as an Asian American living in the New England states.

How much will this 660 hurt my chance of admission into prestigious (Ivy-level) universities?

Thanks for reading.

It will hurt you for sure. You can say goodbye to those Ivy dreams :frowning:

You can always retake it (obviously study before you do so). Most of the ivies are score choice (double check on this). Yale and Cornell I’m pretty sure are the only exceptions.

First time I took Math II I actually got a 680. Only had to send it to Yale. The others think I got a 790 first try

It won’t hurt you at all. You don’t even have to submit it anywhere if you don’t want to. Subject tests don’t really matter unless a specific school requests them. Their only purpose like AP exams is just to brag about mastery in a certain subject. As long as your score isn’t awful-aweful it doesn’t really matter. I know like for my school the subject tests did not match the course material for what I learned at all for APUSH or AP Bio so I took them and just didn’t report them. If your really concerned about your scores you can always study and retake them but honestly its so minor I wouldn’t bother unless a school asks for certain subject tests in order to apply.
