Math is my best subject and the reason I am doing poorly is because I got into some trouble and ended up getting a zero on a test, taking my grade from a 94% to a 61%. I'm in the 10th grade.
My grades are as follows: D-, A, A, A, A+, A+, A-. My citizenship grade was an A but it has dropped to a B+. I would have had over a 4.0 GPA if my math and citizenship grade didn't drop, but now it is a 3.58.
My cumulative GPA without these grades is a 3.968 and I feel all my chances of raising that to a 4.0 and getting into a good college is out of the picture.
I will inquire about retaking this class to get a better grade but I don't know if that will supersede my D- or if I will be able to retake it at all (if I end up passing the semester). I definitely plan to get straight A's for the rest of high school.
I am willing to do anything to get that D- back to an A, but I don't think it's possible.
I had my heart set on Carnegie Mellon University; now I don't know if it's a reasonable goal.
Does this D- completely wreck my chances of getting into a good college?
