How much will being hispanic help me?

<p>Hi! I'm 1/8th Cuban and I'm wondering how much leverage it will give me while applying to schools! </p>

<p>I got a 1780 on my SAT and have a 3.7, maybe 3.65 unweighted GPA and have taken many honors/AP courses throughout high school. I've played Varsity soccer since 9th grade, and participated in JV lacrosse for 9th and 10th. For about 5 years I've been on a Premier level soccer team and have been captain of said team for 4 of those years. I've also played on the LI Rough Riders and made it to National Championships. I have also helped with the senior play, costume making and stage stuff.</p>

<p>Schools I am interested in, order of preference:
Boston University
Fordham University
Penn State
Manhattan College
Fairfield University.</p>

<p>I am also a great essay writer and received a 100 on my English regents. Help?</p>

<p>You have great stats, but 1/8 doesn’t mean anything to college admissions committees; they frankly won’t ever know that about you. But it doesn’t really matter, because you have a great profile. If you bump up your SAT another 200 points or so, you’ll have a good shot at all those schools :)</p>
