I got a B in AP Calc, so my class rank dropped from 5th to 7th. These were my first semester senior year grades. However, my cumulative GPA went up slightly.

I obviously have to send in my first semester grades to colleges, and I'm super worried that this is going to hurt me.

This is the third B that I've gotten in high school; I applied for Poly Sci, so it is in a subject completely unrelated to my major.

The schools this is relevant to are:

U Chicago (deferred from EA)
Northwestern
Georgetown
UVA
UIUC

I am not an expert, but I really don’t think dropping from #5 to #7 is going to make a bit of difference in how schools look at you. Continue to take rigorous, challenging courses and do your very best. I assume your class is large enough that you remain in the top 5 to 10% - so relax.

You’re screwed. How could you possibly get a B?!?!?!? Let alone 3 B’s in high school! There is no way any school will ever accept you now. You will probably end up going to a community college, but be kicked out for getting too many B’s then you will live the rest of your life on the streets with a B shaped rain cloud over your head, constantly reminding you of you absolutely horrible grades. When you apply for jobs in the future your application will instantly get thrown out because you got a B first semester senior year. When your future wife founds out about this B she will instantly divorce you because she cannot spend her life with such a failure. When you try to buy furniture for your nice place under a bridge they won’t allow you to buy them because you got this B. You will try to go to sporting events, yet this B will make your tickets invalidated and you will have to watch it on TV instead. Your life is essentially over.
