How reliable is the textbook search function on the berkeley bookstore website?

I'm planning on getting my books on half.com, and was wondering if it's pretty much guaranteed that the books that they posted for the Fall 2010 semester will be what's used in class.

I'd rather not buy the wrong edition or have it turn out that the book was never going to be used. I'm pretty sure it should be fine, but has anyone experienced a situation where the textbook search function was wrong?

Thanks in advance.

no its usually not wrong but you may not always need everything the store lists.

for example, frosh year for cog sci 1, i bought a $50 book and we only read ONE page out of it that I could have just as easily photocopied from a classmate.

i would just hold off on the buying until the first day when you can ask the instructor which ones are absolutely necessary for the class and then go to the store.
