books?

would it be wise to buy the textbooks I need for next semester now? I'm planning on being a science major so the books are really expensive. should I wait until I get to berkeley and scout some used books stores?

I was aslo wondering that too, for L&S r44 i need 9 books so i just got them now because i didnt want to have to worry about finding them all for a cheaper price once school started. half.com is good and amazon.com, half is a bit better since they have shipping deals if you order from the same seller

It will save a lot of money. If you are sure about attending the class, yes.

Try cheaptextbooks.com It compares the prices from many websites. You can chose who you want to buy the book from depending on price, condition of book, proximity, etc. It’s a great website. All my kids use it and we have saved a ton on books. Also don’t forget renting books. My daughter did that this year and the cost of her books went down from $300 to $160…

Ooops! The website is cheapesttextbooks.com

So I bought my books from the cal book store website and after I placed my order, they sent me an email saying that one of my books was “back-ordered.” I tried to find out what that exactly means, but I failed… can anyone help me?

back-ordered means they don’t have it in stock, so it might be a while before you get it.

oh, okay. thanks!

Did you really try to find out what backordered means and fail?

T_T This makes me uneasy about the internet savvy of my classmates-to-be.

I thought my books were cheap when the school offered them. Like $15-20. They are only a $1 on amazon lol. I love not having to buy very many books.

Can you find the Berkeley custom textbooks on other sites??
