I was considering applying to Drew, until I realized that it was affiliated with the methodist church or something. Can anyone who goes there answer how much Christian religion affects life at the college? Is it a bad college choice for a religious jew?

Thanks.

Drew doesn't have a strong religious presence at all. There are quite a few Jewish students and some are very involved in Hillel. I would search for that and ask some the students questions on the Drew site if you can.

According to Hillel.com, ( I am not certain how recent the data is) there are 150 Jewish students out of 1629 and Hillel is very active.

Greetings.

My D will be a sophomore at Drew in the Fall. My impression is that there is a tremendous amount of diversity of every kind under the new (3 years?) president. Weisbuch is the first Jewish president in Drew's history.

D has an Indian friend who's religious background is Hindu, and that young woman apparently has a group of Hindi friends on campus. Drew does have a divinity school. But my understanding is that it's eclectic rather than Methodist. The only clear link to Methodism, as far as I can tell, is that Drew is home to the Methodist Archives.
