What would ACT/SAT & GPA would I need to probably get in Case? It says that their acceptance rate is 71%, but I have heard that it is a great college.

For the current case students, How is the area and social vibe? Is it like a party college or opposite?

Oh, can you explain that since it's such a highly rated school, why is its acceptance rate so high. Usually, the more higher ranked the college is then generally it's rate isn't in the 60%-70% range. It striked me as weird, but I am not sure if I want to apply here, b/c it doesn't seem like a great college, I mean, everything I've heard is negative.

Oooooh, that's what I thought, but the acceptance rate is still awfully high:) As long as it is a good school, I guess it doesn't matter. Well, if it's a good school.

It's a great school. As was said, good candidates, low yield cause they often get into "even better" schools. I was accepted at a number of good places (Hopkins, WUSL etc.) and picked Case. In part for the scholarship, but I'm glad I did. Also, I'm in BME and it's great for that.

Sounds awesome. Is there anything that you don't like about the school? I've heard the area and the academics, but is there anything else. I'll probably apply now. :)

OP- Case tends to have a high acceptance rate because people who aren't qualified tend to not apply. I mean if you weren't in love with academics and an admitted nerd would you really apply to a school in Cleveland that is precisely that? It's pretty well known what the school is about, and as a result most kids are qualified who apply and you don't need to reject them.

Yeah, I know a lot of kids that gave up Ivies to come to Case...my best friend chose Case over Cornell...and I know a girl that turned down Harvard, Princeton, and U Chicago for Case. I've met quite a few people that turned down schools like Northwestern and Wash U for Case...so it's not a bad school, by any stretch of the imagination...

Yea I was always shoked by the REALLY high acceptance rate, but if you look at the schools that ppl apply to case usually apply to they are cornell, MIT, WUSTL etc...I think the same applies for RPI dnt be fooled both are exellent schools!!

Case is not selective, there are kids here with an SAT score of a 1000.

Honestly, come here at your own will. If you want to just study, have no fun, and basically be surrounded by weirdos, its a great place. I'm a freshman here, and basically hate it. I have found a lot of cool people, but everyone is spread out, there is no social life, and kids are really pathetic when it comes drinking/drugs.

I am by no means a huge partier, but I enjoy some partying, and like to have a good time every weekend, which is really not the case here. So realize, when people say, its what you make of it, it really is. I have found everyone to just be weird as hell, and everyone is from Ohio (im from the northeast, NJ).

Oh, and the acceptance rate is high because no one wants to come here, thats the bottom line. Kids here from Ohio think this place is Princeton or somthing, and don't really understand there are better schools out there. I'm not some elitist kid, but I sure as hell dont think this is the best school around.

Its not hard to get into, basically have a 1000 SAT score, be weird as hell.

Also, be aware, as Case has been known to pull money out from under people, in the middle of the year. One of my freinds had to leave just because Case jacked some money from.

Honestly, make sure you visit, and make sure this is the type of environment you want, because unlike me, I came here thinking I would get a goood education and a mediocre social life, but it really sucks, and I plan on transferring.

ah man, my friend goes to CASE and she loves it there, but shes also a nerd [ like literally she does nothing else with her life and freaks out if her gpa isnt a 4.0] i visited CASE and i actually liked it but i guess i cant experience the "student life" aspect of it unless i go there.

People will always say you get what you put into it, but I guess that depends on their social skills.

I have tried very hard to have a good time here, and meet people, maybe its a NE thing, but it really is not a fun place. Come here and get out, or dont come here at all.
