How should I go about self-studying Latin 1 over the summer?

I want to self-study Latin 1 this summer so I can take Latin 2. I didn't take Latin 1 this year due to scheduling issues and I want to get to AP Latin by senior year. The textbook my school uses for Latin 1 is Ecce Romani 1. I was planning to purchase this textbook, and the workbook and activities that go along with it(audio, tests). I was also thinking about getting Rosetta Stone of Latin, too. Should I get anything else? Should I take on online class instead(I haven't been able to find any)?

Wheelock’s

^ Wheelock’s is very good, but it’s a little advanced for Latin 1. Once you get through that book (and understand it well), you would be prepared for Latin 4 (at my school, at least). I’d recommend picking up Cambridge Latin Course Unit 1. Translate all the stories and memorize the vocab (about 20 words per chapter). After that, you should be fine.

The key to early Latin, no matter what book, is a solid foundation. You need to be able to recognize declensions, personal endings, and vocab easily, or it will be very hard for you down the road.

Ecce Romani sucks, I use it. U should take Latin 1 next year to get a solid foundation, and if your hell bent on taking AP Latin then self study Latin 2. You need a solid foundation.
