How significant is college major in applying for internships and jobs?

I don't see many internships or jobs that specifically state math majors qualify, only degrees in IT, Comp. Sci., Finance, etc. Everyone says math gives you a broad range of career choices yet i haven't seen any jobs open to math majors.

Take some CS or business or economics courses, or minor in one of those subjects…if you do well in them, then I’m sure they won’t reject you just b/c you majored in math.

Go to your school’s job and internship fair in the spring. Take some resumes!
