Hi guys,
I applied to UMich for Chemical Engineering, but I am having major thoughts about studying computer science instead. If I get in, how soon can I change my major to computer science? And is it difficult to change majors?
Thanks!

If you applied as a freshman, every engineering student comes in undeclared, regardless of what they put on their application. In order to declare a major, you need to complete at least one semester of classes with a 2.0 (one class in each of math, chemistry/physics, and ENGR 100/101) with at least a 2.0 GPA, and be in good academic standing. In other words, your ability to declare a major depends only on how you perform as a Umich student.
Thanks! That is exactly the answer I was looking for!
