I have seen a lot of websites that say that UPenn have some of the Happiest freshman but most websites say that UPenn is one of the most stressful universities. How stressful is UPenn?
How stressful do you want it to be? Do you want to play a varsity sport while maintaining a 4.0 GPA so you can get into Yale or Harvard Law while majoring in Physics and minoring in organic chemistry, or will you be perfectly happy with a 3.5 and many happy memories from Smokey Joe’s and Spring Fling? At Penn, and at most other top schools, for that matter, your choices, desires and goals will be what drives and determines your stress level.
@capitalrate Penn is very fun, but it can also get intense if you choose to make it. Which is true for all top schools. I feel the stress factor stems from the fact that Penn people like to really push themselves and be great at everything, academics, research, top summer internships, extracurriculars and social life. But that is not much different from what students are like in all top schools. I feel at Penn you also got great social outlets to balance the stress and people tend to be quite happy I feel. But Penn is not for everyone, certainly not people who need to be coddled.
