How strict are the proctors on SAT test day?

Can we sneak some time to bubble in a final answer? Like maybe 15-20sec after 25min time limit?

I would strongly advise against doing that! They are (or atleast in my personal experience) incredibly strict when they say “pencils down”

They are generally pretty strict, but they make mistakes.

It really depends on your proctor. Most of the ones I’ve had always sit at hte desk and read the newspaper for the whole section, until the last 5 minutes. Then they stand up and walk around. If you want to sneak in an extra bubble, then you should sit far away from the proctor’s desk. Not suggesting that you DO cheat though.
Also when they are giving instructions for the next section, I guess you can use that time to fill in the remaining bubbles you were unable to fill in,

Or, if you remember a question in your head and transfer the question and the answer choices to the question pages of the next section, you can work it out there and bubble in the other section.

The proctor I had for my Subject Tests just read his newspaper pretty much the entire time. Only stood up to collect tests and give directions.

I don’t think there would be a problem bubbling in an answer 3-4 seconds after time is called because the precision of the time started is probably off by a few seconds anyway. 10 seconds would be pushing it and not worth the risk anyway.

i hate when proctors say 5 mins left to the point where it makes u jump cuz u r so focused on ur exam. it also makes u lose concentration cause then you have to speed down everything. i hate it…
but i wuld suggest u try and sneak in some answers even tho ur not on THAT section because…you have to do whatever it takes to score high and that is what i am aiming for.

Proctors never seem competent to me. They are always at least (plus or minus) 30 seconds off for sure. (I record the time at the start of every section, they never seem to pay attention…) Maybe it is because some seem happy without a clock that actually shows the seconds so they can guess…

You dont wanna do what wannadomath said. Someone got kicked out of my room for working on his essay while it was math time.

I hate when they stop the time like 30 seconds before the actual stop time. I have a freaking stop watch so i know when it should be stopped

Depends on where you take it, really.

LOL. It’s is funniest anecdote that I have ever read. :)
