<p>Wow we have a lot of short guys around here, could there possibly be a correlation with CC use and height? It'd be an interesting study to do. </p>
<p>I'm a 6' 3" male and love my height. I also have to admit that dating a taller girl would really make me feel weird, and probably wouldn't happen. It's probably the same way with girls wanting taller guys, I don't tell myself "oh look, she's weird since she's 6' 5"! I'm also not an insecure person, so I doubt that plays into it, but I just honestly feel very uncomfortable in those situations.</p>
<p>The biggest problem I have with short guys is oftentimes they have "short man syndrome" and feel they need to make up for their lack of physical stature with a big personality and boasting, or aggression and defensive actions. I'm not saying they're all like this, because I know that's not true, but from my experience it's always the shorter one saying "man, I wish I was over 6 foot." At the same time, I've never put down someone for being shorter, or even mentioned height at all except when asked, but guys are just naturally defensive about it, because they perceive lack of height as a weakness. </p>
<p>So I've always found it funny when this discussion comes up, since the taller guys normally don't really care, the shorter guys go up in flames at the mention of girls liking taller men, and the girls are just going to stick with their preference despite what anyone will tell them. My best advice is either go buy some platform shoes, or accept yourself and realize that MOST women are still going to be shorter than you even though you are 5' 6" or so.</p>

<p>I'm 5'9". Obviously tall guys won't have a problem with it because there is no cultural attitude against them. On the other hand, there's a ton of height discrimination against short guys. Less choices of girls, discriminated against in sports, discriminated against in modeling, seen as weaker, etc. etc. </p>

<p>Without shoes. As for preferred (not required, mind you) height range for me, 5'8'' to 6', as I've mentioned earlier. Beyond 6' and I start feeling too short. I'd like to see the guy's face when we're both standing without straining my neck.</p>
<p>I am a 59 male who likes women close to my height. I would prefer 55-59. I also agree that a tall man and a short women or vise versa look kind of awkward. This can be seen best in professional athletes and their wives. </p>

<p>lol ucbhi, I don't think there's much outright discrimination against shorter guys when it comes to dating, some girls may say so, but it's up to your personality to change her mind. </p>
<p>When it comes to sports and modeling, all I can say is, what do you expect? You can just as well say the NBA discriminates against non-black men for the most part (excluding a few like steve nash, etc.), or that football linemen discriminate against anyone that isn't a giant (both tall and wide).</p>
<p>Modeling is just the media perception of beauty, the men have a brain the size of a nut, and the women starve themselves. </p>
<p>By the way, I don't think 5' 9" or 5' 10" are really that short, they're just normal, and not gigantic like most sports players. </p>
<p>Look on the bright side, at least you won't have to worry about hitting your head on lights, fans, and low door frames!</p>
