the question is not how you got rejected by berkeley…
the question is how you got waitlisted at caltech in the first place…

Dude, you’re Indian from Northern California.

Seriously? People would die to get into UCLA. Be proud and happy with what you’ve received, and remember that people would have killed to get a spot at UCLA, while you’re sitting here whining.

Actually, Berkeley is superior to Caltech for engineering. Caltech’s forte is in physical or hard science.

Low Class?!

how the hell did i get ACCEPTED??? haha man im so shocked. and im indian too whoever posted that on the first page and i got in! : P

The lot of you seem rather defensive after my posts. Yes I’m mad. I’m the top of my class and people with lower stats and awards and achievements from years before and this year have gotten in. I really can’t figure it out.
I have every right to be upset and mad.

If you people here can’t understand that, then I have no reason to even want to attend a school full of insensitive racist fools.

If Berkeley really is full of people like this, then actually, I’m glad I’m rejected.
End of discussion.

You don’t actually have a right to be upset because you do not know why a top college rejected you. It’s not insensitive to refuse to coddle people who are angry over stupid things.

AshwinSundar: Berkeley is a bizarre place, starting with its admissions policies. Where else have you applied? Hopefully, to smaller schools with a focus on undergraduate education.

I see that you’ve applied to Cornell. You can check my reply to your “Cornell vs. Berkeley” post. I wish you the best in your college career.

@foolfromhell: well said and your name is just slightly ironic, haha.

@TS: rejected from berkeley? go to la! like me…

You have the right to be upset but just don’t feel entitled. What I’m not seeing here is WHY you want to attend Cal. It seems like you’re bitter over the fact that they didn’t accept you and not the fact that you cannot attend Cal.

Wow OP…based on your stats, you must have had written crappy essays…I can’t believe you got so cocky.

It’s a game of darts. They missed your target.

To add to that, your score are good, but not spectacular. Students with 2300+, 4.0 GPA get rejected on occasion from what I know.

this is ridiculous… you should’ve gotten in.

At least you tried!!
I really want to go to Berkeley and I didn’t even apply because I’m dumb. And I got accepted to Northwestern which makes me feel like I had a better chance of getting into Berkeley. At least there are no regrets!!! :[[

Wow, I am glad that you didnt get in just judging by what you said about being waitlisted at the number 4 school of America and all that crap… Nobody wants that arrogant attitude at Cal.

tons of people with 4.0s at 2200+ SAT scores got rejected. i understand that you’re angry, i felt that same way as you when it came to UCLA. maybe your essays didn’t agree with the admissions officers, and maybe someone else’s did (even if they had lower scores). in the end, its sometimes just luck.

but i will agree, you do sound really pompous, as if Cal is SUPPOSED to admit you because of your stats. that’s never the case, and YOU need to accept that.

I heart this thread! :)

maybe it’s because you went to a “low class” public high school?

look, any one of us would be angry in your situation, but there are times when you just got to show some humility.
