How the hell do you determine if you are competitive (Japan)?

So, I was taking my AP tests and noticed a section at the end of my informational packet that was for international universities. I then thought, huh, so I can actually go to university in a different country and not for a study abroad session.

Basically, I have not delved too much into this topic, and I am hoping to be enlightened in certain things. For example how can one determine a student's competitive edge?

I am essentially your basic "blah" student: 4.0 GPA, 2320 SAT, some sort of award here, some sort of internship there...
.
But what does a 2300+ mean to universities in Japan (location I am contemplating)?

Would there be certain things that foreign universities would look at?

I apologize in advance; I know I should do my own research, but I am a lazy ass.

You will probably need to know Japanese to study there

Drop an email to the Education Officer at the closest Consulate of Japan. That person will be able to help you find out about educational opportunities that could work for you.

OMG Check out the University of Tokyo’s PEAK program!

LOL excuse my excitement, but most of Japanese unis do have a few English programs, and honestly your grades count for a lot (and yours look fine!).

If you’re considering Japan, why not take a look at University of Hong Kong?
