How to aim for a 30+

As a rising junior, I (like most people) am preparing for the ACT. So I've been doing a couple of practice tests in the red book. Of course, I saw that I was struggling. I got over 20 questions wrong on the math section (maybe due to rushing). The English section is better, but I'm struggling over the big idea questions. The Reading section is fine, and I haven't even started Science yet in the book. Do you have any tips on how to improve and aim for at least a score of 30? The good news for me is that I take it in October, so I should get PLENTY of time to study.

Also, what books should I buy because the ones I’m using right now are from my brother.

Get Princeton Review’s Cracking for the ACT. It has very thorough and helpful review for each section.

Make sure you not only do the questions but also learn from your own mistakes, i.e. learn the answers and explanations.

Also, get The Real ACT, the math is really straightforward, don’t rush over the easy questions.
