How should i prep for the act. I am about to be a junior and i haven't took the act yet. I plan to take it this october. How should i prep my self for the act. Should i study everyday? What prep book should i buy? I want to get a 30+ on the act. I need your help! thanks

We can’t really say anything to help you until we know what your current score is like. No matter what your level, you will most likely get the red “Real ACT” book. (It has the most accurate practice ACT tests as that book is written by the ACT company) Get that, take a practice test, and, based on your score, we can tailor our advice for you. :)

fyi, my son raised his 31 to a 34 on the ACT without study.

keep taking the exam

mere familiarity with the exam will help you.

I would study up on my basic math, so you can remember all the stuff you might have forgotten from 9th and 10th grade algebra and geometry.

^Agreed, a calm, confident mind does wonders compared to hours of rigorous study. And like the above poster said, the only thing you really can study for is the math section. However, if you are adamant on buying a prep book, the your best choice, WITHOUT A DOUBT, is the Princeton Review’s Cracking the ACT.

As far as the Real ACT book is concerned, since ACT does publish it, they aren’t going to give you all the tips that the Princeton Review does. I’ve read both, trust me. I didn’t find anything from the Real ACT helpful while taking the actual test; I found some of PR’s info invaluable.
