Advertisements provide information about available products and services. Many people argue, however, that something else is going on: advertisements try to convince people that when they buy things, they are also buying satisfaction and happiness. Advertisements merely fool people into believing that the next "new and improved" product will make their lives better, and the result is that people are even more unhappy and dissatisfied than they would have been without the advertisements.

Assignment: Do advertisements contribute to unhappiness and dissatisfaction? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations.

What would you use to support it?

I could probably write a lot on that.

What would be your three supporting topics (if you don’t mind me asking)

It doesn’t matter what the topics are. Always get prepared for usual topics(ones you can use history, novels, etc as examples). For the ones that are quite random, you just have to choose what you think is right and make bs examples to support and you get double digit scores. Trust me, bs is the easiest way(well for me =))

I’ll reply again later. But I would probably BS some survey that supports my thesis tell of the 1920’s when advertisement in USA became hip or whenever. And the term with obsolete in it about getting the newest car, and other products because they improve every time… Don’t remember when that was? 1960? Maybe 1920 again. There’s a term for it. Honestly forgot, and just gave back my us history book…
