Hello. I would appreciate some feedback and advice on my situation.

In the next 2-3 years, I would like to go to a top 30 MBA school. I would like to use the MBA to change careers from accounting related work to finance, particularly in the area of small to mid cap value investing.

I am a senior right now and am graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration in Accounting & Finance. I went to a school in the middle of nowhere (it is ranked in the 30s to 40s of the tier 1 regional colleges - south category of US News & World Report).

I will have a 3.80 GPA overall, and will have a 3.85 in accounting and a 3.95 in finance. My lower overall GPA is due to when I was double majoring in mathematics. I am one class away from the minor in mathematics (I lack Calculus III), but will be unable to finish the minor due to scheduling conflicts that would make me stay an extra semester for just one class.

I will graduate having collected 180+ credit hours in 3.5 years. I tested out of almost all of my general studies through the CLEP program.

Right now, I am in an internship program with a federal agency that will give me non-competitive advancement to a full-time job upon graduation. I am currently studying for the CGFM (Certified Government Financial Manager) exam and will begin working on my CPA and CMA once I graduate. I have completed all coursework necessary for the CPA. I also plan to start on the CFA program after the accounting related tests are finished. I plan on staying in this agency for a while since the relaxed work week gives me plenty of time to study this material and the pay differential between my job and a public accounting position in the region is minor.

What other advice can you offer for me to position myself for the future?
